Sparkly Fingerless Gloves

As promised back in January, I'm finally posting the pattern for the fingerless gloves I made for my Mom for Christmas. I've now made a second pair so I can confirm that the size is good and if you wanted to make them a little larger I would recommend going up a needle size or two rather then adding stitches.

Purple gloves for Mom, blue gloves for Megan

Size 4 DPN's
1 Skein Martha Glitter Eyelash Yarn
1 Skein Sensations Lustrous Lamb - White
Tulle or yarn for embellishing
Crystal beads for embellishing
Tapestry needle
6 inches of waste yarn

M1 - increase one stitch by picking up yarn from the row beneath.

22 stitches x 28 rows = 4" x 4"

Cast on 36 stitches with eyelash and white yarn held together using the alternate cable cast-on.
Join in the round and work two rows of K1, P1 rib.
Drop the eyelash yarn.
[K10, K2tog] repeat to the end (33 stitches)
Knit 15 more rows

Increase for thumb:
Row 1: K16, M1, K1, M1, K16 (35 stitches)
Row 2 and all even rows: Knit
Row 3: K16, M1, K3, M1, K16 (37 stitches)
Row 5: K16, M1, K5, M1, K16 (39 stitches)
Row 7: K16, M1, K7, M1, K16 (41 stitches)
Row 9: K16, M1, K9, M1, K16 (43 stitches)
Row 11: K16, M1, K11, M1, K16 (45 stitches)
Row 12: Knit
Row 13: K17, place 11 stitches on waste yarn, K17 (34 stitches)
Knit 10 more rows
Pick up eyelash yarn and work 2 rows of K1, P1 rib
Bind off and weave in ends.

Pick up 11 thumb stitches from waste yarn.
Pick up 3 more stitches at the inside of the glove (14 stitches)
Knit 4 rows
Pick up eyelash yarn and work 2 rows of K1, P1 rib
Bind off and weave in ends.

Embellish as desired.

I don't have a specific way I like to create the flower for the side. I found purple tulle that matched the color of the eyelash yarn so I used that to create the flowers for Mom's gloves, but I couldn't find blue tulle for Megan's gloves. The blue flowers are a modified version of the flower I've made before from my one skein wonders book. These gloves are so cute that whatever you add will look fabulous I'm sure!
