Summer Knits

I know the rapidly approaching summer weather doesn't encourage thoughts of hand knitted scarfs, hats, and gloves, but there are still some great projects perfect for summer. Choosing a lightweight yarn for your project or knitting a fine yarn on a larger needle are both techniques that create a light knitted garment perfect for the summer months.

Here are just a couple of projects to inspire your summertime knitting projects.

This Summer Waves Cardi by Cascade yarns would be great to layer over a tank top at work during the summer months.

A beautiful wrap such as the Seascape Stole is the perfect accessory to a cute summer dress that will be worn when the sun goes down.

And how clever is Flippant for keeping your tender toes protected from thong flip flops? I think this one is definitely going on my list of projects!

There are lots of things that are good for fair weather knitting, you just have to find a pattern that's right for you. Colorful sleeveless dresses for little girls are adorable, or maybe you're in need of a cover-up for your trip to the beach?

What do you like to make when the weather heats up?
